David Titcher is a special kind of writer. Primarily aimed at a younger audience, he is a WGA award nominated screenwriter of movies that comprise of action-packed adventures and spellbinding mayhem. Around the World in 80 Days is one of his most famous works to date, and now David Titcher has taken a step in a slightly different direction with the release of his new interactive eBook Johnny and the Doomsday Machine.

The story follows twelve year old Johnny Fremont, a young Indiana Jones-like character who escapes a relatively boring school trip and teams up with an arch-nemesis in order to save the world. From Albert Einstein’s house to Morocco and back to London, Johnny travels all over in order to stop the ten most ruthless guys anyone could possibly bump into from blowing up the world with a device called a "Doomsday Machine."

Produced in an eBook format, the novel is packed with a whole multitude of various features; including educational quizzes, clever animation, picture galleries, and more interactive elements that bring the story to life and merge with the text to truly create an experience like none other. Amusingly, Johnny and the Doomsday Machine even opens to Albert Einstein greeting readers with a warm welcome.

Perfect for kids of any age, Johnny and the Doomsday Machine utilizes interactive features such as quizzes, animations, videos, and various games to keep the story light and interesting for a more enriching experience. In turn, this manages to engage the reader with the book and keep them hooked by the option to participate with the story.

Visually, the book is pleasantly and elegantly presented with an easily readable text face and some interesting pictures. Graced with a lighthearted tone and a unique narrator, kids will most certainly find the book a delightful experience. All of the quizzes throughout are separated by three different distinctive styles to target the three main types of learners; visual-based, audio-based, and text-based, with each of them designed to be educational in the most enjoyable fashion.

Johnny and the Doomsday Machine is perfect for those who want to give their child an enriching reading experience as well as the gift of learning something new in a completely unique fashion. Children will love the interactive elements of the eBook, and without a doubt it will keep them happily entertained for countless hours as well as give the freedom to read over again should they want to.
