Back in ye olde August, Savy Soda released Pixel Starships 2 in Early Access, the follow-up to its frankly excellent space management sim Pixel Starships. The team may be hard at work perfecting the sequel, be they are still giving the original some love, with Cowboy Bebop coming to Pixel Starships.

Whilst we have, in the past, had an awful lot of collaborations that make no sense, this one is right on the money. Cowboy Bebop has won supporters the world over with its charming space Western style, following a group of bounty hunters on the eponymously named Bebop. And excitingly, they are all along for the Pixel ride.

To begin, you will be able to hire all five members of the Bebop crew, lovingly created in pixel form. Spike will come with the Bloodlust skill, which allows him to attack more in Ship and Ground Combat.

Jet has Freeze, which, as you can guess, stops enemies in their tracks, and Faye can speed up allies or room charges. You can round off the crew with Ed and Ein, too.

Of course, you can’t expect Cowboy Bebop to come to a game about spaceships without the ship itself making an appearance. You will be able to pick up this iconic ship and pilot it through the stars. Just be aware that at some point it will absolutely get exploded by someone, but at least you will enjoy it right up until that moment.

That is not all of the Bebop goodness that will be up for grabs, as there will be a few other exclusive rewards. You can customize your ship even more with the Bebop Hanger Skin Kit, or you could add Spike’s Gun to your arsenal.

It built up quite the legacy in the series, so why not continue adding to its story?

Pixel Starships is available from the App Store and Google Play.
