The emergence of Esports is perhaps one of the best things to happen in gaming. It shows our little hobby can be a serious thing, gets more people intrigued, and allows players to use their skills to earn money. And on that last point, PUBG Mobile has announced a new ranking system to give players more chances to reach pro Esport team tryouts.

When the version 3.4 update drops in November, it will introduce the Ultimate Royale ranked mode. This consists of five ranked tiers, each adhering to professional esports tournament scoring rules. Play well enough and make it to the top, and you will have a shot to try out for a professional team.

To get you used to the top-tier settings, there will be a raft of map configurations to bring the game more in line with tournament standards. Playzone shrink time, Blue Zone decay rate and damage per second will be adjusted, and aim assist, flare guns and shops will be disabled. It's a trial by fire.

In order to even reach the gates of the Ultimate Royale you obviously need to be pretty skilled already. Each Classic Season, after 14 days, players who reach the Crown Tier in the current or last season will be invited to join. For a limited time each day, Ultimate Royale participants can enter Classic Erangel as part of 16 teams.

Here you can start picking up points, with each elimination giving one, and further points coming in the shape of team rank at the time of player elimination. Each of the new tiers will have five mini-tiers, which will cost 100 points per step up. It is a whole new way to play the game, but the rewards have never been better.

PUBG Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with Version 3.4 dropping on November 10th.
