Whilst we aren’t sponsored by Jagex yet - hint hint - I'm going to keep rolling with the news from these guys after yesterday's Green Jam announcement. Today we are looking at the OldSchool RuneScape Summer Summit that just passed, and it had quite a few interesting bits of information.

Kicking off with the OSRS main story, Varlamore: The Rising Darkness will be arriving on September 25th. Continuing the tale from Children of the Sun and Twilight’s Promise, players will continue to investigate the attempts on Servius’ life and learn more about the Twilight Emissaries.

This update will also bring with it a new group Boss in the form of the dreaded serpent Hueycoatl, as well as new areas such as Darkfrost and Aldarin. You can also partake in the Mixology activity related to Herblore, or try your Agility expertise on the Colossal Wyrm course.

Finally, on the story front, we got a few peeks at Varlamore: The Final Dawn, the final act of the Varlamore trilogy. Players will be let loose in the new Auburn Valley, Custodia Pass, and Tlati Rainforest areas, which sounds like running quite the gambit of biomes. You can tackle a new Slayer Dungeon, and new Bosses, and there will be a bit of a spotlight on the Fletching skill.

If you are looking for a challenge, check out the upcoming League V Raging Echoes launch. There will be a pack of Echo Boss Varients, bosses with enhanced skill sets, to take on, but with the new Combat Masteries giving you control over your buffs, you can take them.

Continuing the trend of Jagex modelling Old School RuneScape from their community's feedback, there will be more ways you can help shape content. Ice and Giant bosses will be marching into the game soon, as well as Wrathway, straight from Deadman mode. Each of these will come complete with future polls, offering rewards for giving your opinion.

Jagex also unveiled the first look at Project Zanaris, a massive Community Server project that put players in control. You can create your own adventure for friends or just the whole community, controlling gameplay modifiers to your heart's content. More info will follow, but off the bat, this sounds pretty cool.

There will also be major new visual updates and gameplay feature helpers landing soon, making this a solid time to download Old School RuneScape from the App Store and Google Play to join in the fun.
