Jump into one of Volkswagen's most iconic cars and make a slow getaway in PUBG Mobile

We spoke about PUBG Mobile yesterday and their Esports development, so it is a little early to revisit them, but we have to because this is just too amusing. Someone needs to tell Krafton that PUBG Mobile is a massive title because out of all the car producers they could team up with, they picked Volkswagen.

Forget tanking through gunshots with friends in the safety of a Hummer, forget blitzing across the battlefield in a Bugatti, you can tackle the mayhem in a Volkswagen. And not just any Volkswagen, this collaboration focuses on the Beetle. Perhaps the least desirable car in combat. It is so absurd, I somehow love it.

Until November 10th you can try out two versions of the iconic, or perhaps infamous, Beetle; the VW Käfer 1200L and the VW New Beetle Convertible, which is even more ridiculous. The Käfer comes in bright, shoot-at-me Yellow paint, or a Creatures theme, whilst the Convertible can sport either the equally identifiable pink or a Monster theme.

During this licensing collaboration, you can drive these two vehicles and earn special adornments for them by completing events. There are four to collect, two for each to make things fair. Starting with the Käfer, you can pick up the playful balloon and toy attachments.

The VW New Beetle Convertible can be jazzed up with the edgy horns attachments, and the wind-up attachment. Clearly, Volkswagen isn’t taking itself too seriously in the collaboration, and you have to respect them for that. The battlegrounds will be chock full of ridiculous-looking cars ambling about, and it will be a happy place for it.

PUBG Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play. The Volkswagen collaboration is currently active and will run until November 10th.
