Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, the sequel to the popular shooter Hitman Sniper, was announced during the Square Enix Digital Presentation. However, it was at E3 that the developer revealed the title ‘Hitman Sniper: The Shadows’.

Square Enix has been working on the title for quite a while and finally, they announced the release date in a recent Tweet.

According to the Tweet, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows will be released on March 3 all across the planet. The game will be available for download on Google Play and the App Store.

Just like Hitman Sniper, players’ primary focus will be on taking down targets without getting caught. The game combines shooting elements with stealth missions.

However, things are not the same. Agent 47 is missing in action and you will have to take his place. Diana Burnwood takes the lead and will guide the Shadows for missions. She has activated Initiative 426 which forms the main plot. Speaking of the Shadows, the team includes Knight, Kolzak, Kiya, Soji, and Espelho.

Even though the upcoming game is a sequel to Hitman Sniper, it is more of an extension to the Hitman World of Assassination.

One of the main drawbacks of Hitman Sniper was that the map got really repetitive after a while. From the sneak peek that we’ve had of Hitman Sniper: The Shadows beta, the sequel has multiple maps.

As Square Enix promised, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows is completely free-to-play. Interested players can head over to Google Play and the App Store and hit the ‘pre-register’ button.

You will be notified when the game rolls out. Players who pre-register might receive some in-game rewards at launch.

To learn more about the game, you can visit the official website. The developers have made an elaborate site with all the details.
