Since launching last month, Grimguard Tactics has been quietly going about its business, and if you glance at the Google Play and App Store reviews, it's smashing it. Now, however, it is time to lift the lid on the game's first major update, heading to a phone near you on November 28th.

This inaugural update quickly brings a few new features to Outerdawn’s dark fantasy tactical RPG, in the shape of a new hero class, trinkets, event, dungeon, and more. If this is a sign of things to come then Grimguard players are going to be well looked after. But without further ado, it's time to unpack.

Let's start with the most important feature, undoubtedly the hero class. The Acolyte is a new support option, although he sounds like so much more. Wading into battle with a hand scythe, they can use the blood of their enemies to heal, or straight control them. The second option sounds pretty interesting. Whilst healing is of course always helpful, you can’t overstate the mayhem caused when someone's friends start literally stabbing them in the back.

Whatever class you prefer, we can all agree that more power is always welcome. Grimguard players can now equip their heroes with a variety of new trinkets to give them an edge in battle. You will have to collect materials, and then head over to the Forge to craft these little game changers.

After mastering this class and arming them to the hilt with new shinies, it is time to take on the Severed Path. This event will take you deep into a special dungeon where you will be able to take on exclusive missions. Do this, and you will be able to claim a few special items.

Grimguard Tactics is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
