With the Apple Watch set to become available (kind of) very, very soon, it's no surprise to see more and more apps and games updating to support the new device. Some of them seem a bit odd, though. Like Asphalt 8? Really?
All we have to go on is a small enigmatic blurb in the game's update notes that simple says "Apple Watch Support." Does this mean we're getting a wrist-mounted version of Gameloft's arcade racer? Probably not. More likely it ties the notification system [Update: Gameloft has just confirmed this] - although it's not unreasonable to think that we might be able to perform some basic interactions using the watch rather than having to pull out a phone.
The update for Asphalt 8: Airborne is already live, and if you're one of the lucky few who's getting an Apple Watch within the next week or so you'll be able to check out the functionality first-hand.
