Learn to Tell Time

“Learn to Tell Time” is an educational application offering four different exercises to practice how to tell time. Drill sets are organized into groups of questions in the following categories: Tell Time, Elapsed Time, Time After, and Time Before. Settings can be adjusted to accommodate the number of questions in each set, the time limit, and difficulty level. Unlike many educational apps, “Learn to Tell Time” feels much more like portable learning module than a game. There isn’t much to look at with this app – mainly clock faces and a few random clip art characters. The application would be enhanced greatly with animated features that could draw the user into a sense of interactive play; this enhancement would be complemented by the timed element the app already features. I must admit, this is the first app I’ve experienced of its kind. I wasn’t necessarily wowed, but I think it fits a need in the App World and it does it well enough to challenge and engage kids to learn the intended lesson.
