Islanders: Mobile brings the highly acclaimed minimalist city builder to your portable device
Time to make the island of your dreams.
Have you ever found yourself lost on a small island in the middle of nowhere and thought, “Who designed this place? I could do much better?"
Well, lucky for you and your incredibly specific situation, the hit city builder Islanders: New Shores has arrived on mobile, with the new moniker of Islanders: Mobile.
Should you play the game's story mode as it were, or High Score, you will be presented with a series of small yet stunning islands. For each level of these, your inventory will be fit to burst with all manner of buildings to situate, but with a slight twist.
You will be scored depending on where you place them, so you must think hard about each structure's purpose. Sticking a water mill on top of a hill probably won’t score you many points.
Newly introduced in New Shore were Boons, one-time power-ups that can turn the tide of a particularly low-scoring run, or propel you to your own personal high score. These have effects such as duplicated buildings in your inventory or replacing those you have already built.

If you wish to indulge your creative side, you can shed the shackles of points, enter Sandbox mode, and stack all your houses on top of each other. Probably not that, but it will be a lot more freeform. You can then capture your favourite creations with the Photo Mode, or design a little village in the beautiful Luminescent biome.
The wizards at Coatsink Software have taken care to ensure their wonderful creation hasn’t lost any of its lustre moving over to mobile, and have enhanced it with the likes of touch controls. Thanks to its easily accessible short levels, perfect for a pick-up and play approach, you will wonder why it wasn’t released here in the first place.
Islanders: Mobile is available to purchase from the App Store and Google Play now.
