AntiSquad is much like the traditional Christmas Fruit Cake: It sounds like it should be a fantastic idea. Even at first glimpse one may believe they are getting into something wonderful. However, one quickly realizes that (again much like the Fruit Cake) AntiSquad leaves an unappealing taste in the mouth for many reasons. Although unlike the Fruit Cake, this game will not be preserved in the archives of time and has a terribly ironic name.
The game itself isn't anything original as there are plenty of turn-based and squad-based combat games on the App Store. But rather than be something action packed, or bizzare but unique, Antisquad feels very generic and plain. The cartoony graphics are fun, and it's definitely packed full of violence and mayhem, but nothing about the game is gripping or interesting. The only thing that really sticks out about this title is that it operates on an egregious monetization system despite the fact that it will set the user back $3.
AntiSquad may look like it is going to be a fun experience, but that notion couldn't be further from the truth. It's an incredibly dull title that spends more time perpetuating stereotypes and over-sexualization than producing a quality game that will keep players captivated. The fact that this title attempts to reach into the player's back pocket to grab even more money from them than the initial fee should do more than enough to scare buyers away from this game.
