WeatherBug Updates to 2.0

Posted by Kevin Stout on February 15th, 2012

WeatherBug, by Earth Networks, has been updated to 2.0. The 2.0 version of WeatherBug has been completely redesigned with a new user interface and added some new features.

WeatherBug can now automatically update the user’s weather information based on current location data. WeatherBug finds the closest weather station to the iPhone’s current location and uses that to update the weather. The app now receives severe weather warnings and alerts from both the National Weather Service and the exclusive WeatherBug Network.

Other important features include the ability to put a pin on a map and see the current weather conditions, at-a-glance visual forecast displays, and live camera shots from the WeatherBug Network.

While WeatherBug is free (separate apps available for iPhone and iPad), WeatherBug also has an elite version at $0.99 that includes all free features in addition to removing ads and adding additional weather map layers. Check out the video below for an overview of features for WeatherBug.
