Developer Quadriga Games and publisher Serious Games Solutions today announced the availability of a new real-time strategy game for the iPad, EMERGENCY. It is available for one day at $0.99, to celebrate its launch, and will be available for $3.99 on the US and European app stores thereafter.

You'll need to take on the role of the chief of operations for catastrophic response in this game, with 13 different emergency scenarios, like a plane crash in Berlin, a burning tanker in a harbor, and a derailed maglev train. You'll need to use combinations of 18 different units, depending on the scenario, to put out fires, find and treat the injured, and maintain order. You'll need to be quick, of course, but the highest scores will go to those who can be strategic as well, earning gold medals for especially fine tactics in each mission.

The game includes Game Center support, and is available for download in the App Store in English, German, French, Spanish and Polish.
