Next week, Puzzle & Dragons is getting a little angry. Because, you know, Angry Birds. It’s a… a pun. I thought… never mind.
Anywhosits, starting next week on 10/20 and running through 11/2, Puzzle & Dragons will feature a brand new dungeon inspired by Angry Birds Epic. You’ll be able to recruit the help of familiar Epic characters, as well as some classic birds for those who might have missed the last crossover event, and you’ll of course be fighting some mean old piggies along the way.
You can download Puzzle & Dragons – and even Angry Birds Epic for that matter – off the App Store now for free.
Angry Birds and Puzzle & Dragons! Angry Birds and Puzzle & Dragons!!! ANGRY BIRDS AND PUZZLE AND DRAGONS! OH MY! Yeah, sorry, anyway…

GungHo Online Entertainment and Japanese Telecommunications Specialist, SoftBank, have purchase a 51 percent stake in the Finnish mobile company, Supercell. Pocket Gamer Biz reports that details released by SoftBank state that GungHo purchased 20 percent of the company, while SoftBank put in for the other 31 percent.
Supercell is known for their hit titles, Clash of Clans and Hay Day, and we’ve seen a previous relationship between GungHo and Supercell as the two developers took part in a cross promotion for each other’s games.
In a blog post on Supercell’s website, Masayoshi Son, founder of SoftBank, was quoted saying, “In our quest to become the #1 mobile Internet company, we scour the globe in search of interesting opportunities and right now some of the most exciting companies and innovations are coming out of Finland. Supercell is one of those rare and special companies. While your success is impressive, it is your amazing culture and deep passion that truly inspired me. After getting to know Ilkka and some of the team, it became clear to me that you, like us at Softbank, are on a similar long and aspirational journey to shape the future of entertainment for the next hundred years. And, I’m excited to see an independent Supercell continue to rise with great people and great games, delivering happiness to so many people around the world.”

Pocket Gamer reports that GungHo Online (Puzzle and Dragons) and Supercell (Clash of Clans and Hay Day) are working together to promote each other’s games with in-game features. Puzzle & Dragons will add Clash of Clans content, including a themed dungeon and exclusive monsters, while Clash of Clans and Hay Day will feature cross-promotions for Puzzle & Dragons.
“It is an honor to announce the collaboration of Puzzle & Dragons and the Supercell games, Hay Day and Clash of Clans,” said Kazuki Morishita, President/CEO and Executive Producer of GungHo Online Entertainment. “Supercell and GungHo share the same approach to game development so it seemed only natural to collaborate together. We will continuously support each other and our shared vision of delivering fun and exciting gameplay to everyone.”
This promotion will last for two weeks, beginning on June 24th.
Some princesses are content to sit around and wait to be rescued. They don’t mind sitting in their tower/castle/fancy chair until a prince shows up to rescue them or sweep them off their feet. Princess Punt isn’t that type of girl. She goes out and does the looking for herself.
Trajectory-based games are nothing new to iOS devices, be they medieval, automotive or avian in nature. The practice of knocking down ramshackle structures with an odd assortment of objects is a popular one, but not many of them involve giving armored soldiers the boot. Much less booting them into all manner of large (and vicious) beasts. Different “weapons” have different effects that can be triggered when the screen is tapped, while shot placement (trajectory, strength, point of impact, etc.) can mean the difference between “teh phat lewtz” and utter failure. It’s a weird concept that seems just insane enough to be awesome.
But don’t take my word for it. Anyone looking to dropkick noblemen into scaly monstrosities can check out Princess Punt in the App Store right now for absolutely free.
