Here's an Early Look at Expedia on the Apple Watch

Posted by Jessica Fisher on March 10th, 2015

With its release just around the corner, Expedia has shared some details about their app designed for the new Apple Watch.  The Expedia app gives you all the information you need for travel with actionable notifications for flight status, gate changes, hotel check-in and check-out, and more.

Expedia also uses Glances, which lets you swipe up on the watch face to scroll through the most relevant information. The app saves you time and aggravation by keeping track of all the details, itineraries, departure and arrival times, gate numbers, terminals, check-in and check-out times, maps, directions, and phone numbers.

Expedia will be available alongside the Apple Watch on April 24.

The New Expedia App Combines Hotel and Flight Searches

+ Universal & Apple Watch App - Designed for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch

Expedia has released a new app that now allows users to search for hotels and flights at the same time. Using a single search box you can enter a city name, landmark, or airport code and the app will find hotels and flights without having to enter dates specific details at the start. This will save travelers valuable time in trying to match up different flight and hotel offers.

The app also includes a Collections section, which presents you with vacation destinations if they are not sure where they want to go yet. Once you're sure about your vacation locale, the Expedia Tablet App has an integrated trip planner you can use. It takes care of booking, lets you view upcoming travel details, and can share your itinerary with family and friends via email or text message.

You can pick up the Expedia Hotels & Flights on the App Store for free.

Expedia Updates its iPhone/iPod App, Adds in a Digital Media Lounge

Posted by Tre Lawrence on April 14th, 2014

Expedia just updated its iPhone/iPod Touch app to add a digital hub called the Media Lounge.

The Media Lounge presents users hand-picked content meant to make travel easier and more enjoyable. It allows them to download premium content every month via iTunes - stuff like travel guides, wi-fi finders, and more. The first Media Lounge offering is Over, a photo-editing app (regularly $1.99) that enables travelers to personalize photos by adding text and artwork.

All this is in addition to the saving, booking, and itinerary tools already present in the app (which, outside the update, are also available to iPad users).

The Expedia app is available for free on the App Store.

Exciting New Features In Expedia's Updated TripAssist

Posted by Ben Harvell on May 13th, 2010
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Expedia has made a major update to its TripAssist app including all-new interactive features to make it easier for travelers reach their destinations.

A YouTube video has been posted explaining the new features using an example case study.

Some of the best enhancements include itinerary tracking, real-time SMS and email alerts, online booking, alternate flight options and SeatGuru seat maps. Ideal for those last minute alterations to your trip or unexpected ash clouds from Iceland.

From within the TripAssist app, users can now plan their route or follow that of others by looking up flights or checking an entire itinerary. A new horizontal view shows you where you should be at any given point in your trip including arrival and departure times, hotel and rental car locations.

The SeatGuru seat map feature allows you to find where you are seated on your flight to allow for any last minute changes.

The app is free and available now in the App Store.
