"War. War never changes." This iconic phrase from the legendary PC game Fallout helped to epitomize the grit embodied in every soldier ever to don the uniform of their country of origin. Conflict between nations have also been embodied in virtually every form of media imaginable, from pieces of literature to feature films. However, one arena that has been seemingly void of the horrors of war has been pinball tables. In hopes of remedying this obvious negligence, Gameprom has designed a whole new pinball experience, that with the aid of MGM Studios, simultaneously re-exposes three classic war films to the masses.
With specific tables focused on the films Platoon, Missing in Action, and Navy Seals, players will get all of the gunfire and chaos they can manage, while still getting their daily allotment of flipper induced carnage. Each of the tables are exquisitely designed and well executed, while reminding players of some of the best parts of each of the featured films they are based upon. Throughout gameplay there well be nods back to the original subject matter including film specific minigames, interactive model movements inside of the table itself, and sound clips from the movie. These are the kinds of elements that will ring true to any fans of the original subject matter.
Layered on top of the already amazing design is the physics engine that has helped drive the success of the pinball platform on iOS. There is a natural speed and motion to the ball that easily makes this some of the most organic and authentic pinball simulation accessible on the platform. Junkies for accuracy throughout the genre will certainly be well pleased, to say the very least.
Gameprom is back doing what they have proven themselves proficient at time and time again: making stellar pinball games. Honestly, this could be My Pretty Ponies Pinball, and gamers would be queuing up to download it the moment it hit the App Store. War Pinball is no exception to the rule, and should definitely find a home in your digital arcade.
