The native iOS alarm is nice for those who don’t multitask, but it can quickly become a pain when multiple alarms are needed throughout the day. On the other hand, it can be hard to manage multiple alarms all day long. Thankfully, there is now an app that helps solve both dilemmas. Whether alarms are needed for cooking, as reminders for taking breaks throughout the day, or used and integrated with daily schedules, VISUALARM has everyone covered.

VISUALARM is a simple app that’s designed to make setting and managing multiple alarms a breeze. A quick tour helps users get started. Just touch and hold the screen to add a new alarm, click the screen to delete it, drag it to change the time and tap it to edit it with more precise settings like minute adjustments, sound and repeat options.

Alarm icons change their shape according to the sound. Additionally, active alarms move and inactive alarms will not. Alarms that are in motion but transparent indicate that the alarm is off but snooze is active. What’s great about snooze is that it pops up on the lock screen and it can be activated by tapping snooze or pushing the badge button.

Along with being simple to use, VISUALARM has a pleasant and basic interface that makes it attractive. The day’s time is indicated on a timeline on the left side of the screen with the current time shown on the bottom. Furthermore, the background color changes throughout the day and represents the color of the sky at the time. My favorite interface feature is the sound that the app makes when tapping on the screen to add a new alarm. It’s tempting to tap the screen to create a funky tune.

VISUALARM is off to a great start, but a few minor improvements would help make it more enticing. For instance, the app currently includes 9 fun alarm sounds, but it could use more options. Also, it’s only possible to have 10 alarms maximum on the screen, so those who are hoping to set all their alarms for the day may be disappointed that they’ll have to go in add the others later.

Despite a few minor improvements, VISUALARM is a rather handy app. Additionally, it’s simple, beautiful, and pleasant to use. For less than one dollar, it’s highly recommended for anyone who’s looking for a fun and convenient way to set multiple alarms without all the hassle.
