A fairly solid entry to the Hidden Object genre. At least it is for those who haven't already played an earlier version.

Rereleased with some extra scenes and a few other bonuses, those who already own Treasure Seekers 3: Follow the Ghosts probably don't need this definitive version. That's not to say, however, that it's not a fairly competent casual adventure game that should entertain newcomers to the title.

Following a somewhat predictable path of mystery and supernatural happenings, players must help liberate various ghosts from an evil alchemist. As usual, this involves plenty of searching around scenes for specific objects as well as sharing conversations with various characters. As a twist to the usual occurrences, there's more to Treasure Seekers 3: Follow the Ghosts than just typical Hidden Object scenes.

Often players are tasked with finding a key object, which must then be put back together by finding a series of other items to link together. Rather than relying upon text descriptions, one has to look at the silhouettes of an item in order to figure out what must be sought after. It makes these kind of Hidden Object scenes seem more practical rather than the odd thinking behind needing to find a bell in order to unlock a safe, for instance.

Typical Hidden Object scenes are still here though, and they are just as oddly arranged although still providing relaxing entertainment. Occasionally I had issues with the game picking up my taps accurately, but otherwise such scenes are quite forgiving.

Logic puzzles, as well as more standard jigsaw puzzles, litter the way and provide a touch of variety. Throughout, a generous hints button ensures that no one's really stuck for long - something that's useful given the game's tendency to leave one uncertain as to where to go next. For the most part though, Treasure Seekers 3: Follow the Ghosts is a pretty solid entry in the casual adventure gaming genre. It's not worth an additional purchase for those who already own the pre-Collector's Edition version, but others will enjoy it.
