Tilt Shift images are unique and fun. They offer a look into our world in a different perspective, making everything look miniature and overly colorful. If you’re not familiar with this effect, I highly suggest checking out some google images, and stare in amazement that these are real photographs, simply edited to look surreal.

TiltShift Video is one of the very few apps that allows you to edit your videos on iOS to add the Tilt Shift effect. It does so by offering several stages of editing options to the video itself, it does so quickly and very simply. Even an iPhone video novice like myself was able to figure it out in a matter of minutes.

You can edit any videos shot or saved on your iPhone. Wide-shots and large crowds with as little camera movement as possible work best. Import your video, and select your time-lapse speed (to speed up the video) from 1x up to 16x. Next, you can add the colour over-saturation that’s so familiar with Tilt Shift photography, and adjust brightness and other lighting options. Finally you’ll chose your focus, and blur radius. This make take several times to get right, as Tilt Shift is as much an art as any other photographic skill.

It’s also worthy to note that there’s an option to edit any of your photographs into Tilt Shift images as well; while not the focus of the app, it’s a wonderful feature to be included and I would definitely like this app less if it weren’t.

The app works perfectly and includes instructions even though it’s quite self-explanatory. It really does offer all of the editing features that one needs to create unique and fun Tilt Shift videos.

I strongly suggest (run, don’t walk!) having a look at a couple of the amazing videos that the developer has posted on his website that some users created using this app. Well worth the price tag, and I’m definitely going to keep this one around for fun videos in the summertime!
