Submerged should almost be considered a game, it's so fun. Take wacky, distorted photos that look as if your camera was deep underwater.

While I usually like to review photographic effects apps, most of the time they're fairly serious or artistic. However, this time I'd like to share something a bit more fun, and wacky. So lets take off our Serious Photographers Hat, and put on our Silly Camera Fun Hat, and enjoy Submerged.

What Submerged is going to offer is a sort of underwater view of the world. The really neat thing about this app is that it integrates the Gyrometer to actually effect the view through the camera, in real time to give you a distorted, wavy, wonky view of the world. You can also affect the effect by poking, pinching and prodding the view. It lets you shape your effect like your camera were made of out of jelly!

What sets this app apart from other distortion photo apps is that it gives you the ability to lock in a certain view, and distort everything to that specific shape. Or, you can also distort photos that you've already taken on your device, simply load them into the app, either touch the photo or wave your device around to make it crazy, fun-house mirror style distorted.

While there's not much else to the app itself, you can save, email, or post your photos to Facebook right from within the app. The only drawback I found was that sometimes it was difficult to both move the device around and snap the photo at the same time. Or if you're using your fingers to alter the picture, being able to snap the photo at the exact time that you want. All in all, I think this app will appeal to kids and adults alike. While the app description states that it'll be regularly $1.99, I hope that this is not the case because the $0.99 price range is exactly where this app should be, and that amount is definitely worth the fun it offers.
