Sky Combat is another excellent game from Chillingo that will make your finger sore very quickly from its addicting gameplay. The mission is to navigate an attack helicopter against a series of enemy aircraft, tanks, missiles and other obstacles. The action includes combatting the fleet with your helicopter's weaponry as well as navigating a tank or boat in later levels.

The Controls in Sky Combat are rather straightforward; your finger directs the helicopter, with a few simple additional moves such as evasive action or firing missiles possible through tilting the iPhone or tapping the on-screen buttons. Since using tilt is a major function of the game, be sure to take advantage of the customization options within the menu. Here you can calibrate your device for tilting to avoid any calamities during gameplay.

Same goes for when you arrive at a level where you use a boat or a tank; controls can be done with a virtual wheel or turning your device. Firing the default guns is automatic, so no need for endless tapping on-screen. There are various upgrades for faster-firing weapons and a supply of missiles. These will come in handy when reaching the boss at the end of each mission. A giant helicopter with multiple guns or other sophisticated weaponry awaits you.

Finding success in Sky Combat requires concentration and quick maneuvering to stay alive and avoid the enemy fire. The screen quickly fills with enemies who are either in your flight path or firing at your helicopter. Expect some moderate finger fatigue before engaging in a longer play session. Even if you configure the controls for relying more on tilt than virtual buttons, successful play means a solid workout for those index fingers.

Those who enjoy combat games or those with a military theme will definitely enjoy Sky Combat. It is fun to play and crash-free; except when the crash is the result of enemy fire.
