Scramblies is a fun and easy to play puzzle game in which players drop eggs to defeat “baddies,” hit pins to score points, and solve physics-based puzzles. The game requires precise timing and analytical thinking, but is very approachable and easy to play.

Eggs are dropped from the top of the screen wherever a user taps. Multiple eggs can be dropped at one time, but there are a certain number of eggs to drop every level, so just dropping eggs randomly is a bad idea. Players are supposed to aim for the “baddies,” the mean, blue eggs that are destroyed when hit by a falling egg.

Levels include different obstacles, such as the space-themed levels that have asteroids and rockets ships, which get in the way and change the trajectory of eggs. Levels also have many pins scattered throughout that award points when hit, but also get in the way. At the bottom of each level are 5 slots that eggs can fall into. At the end of each level players are awarded points, one to three stars depending on the number of points earned, and allowed to move on to the next level if all the baddies have been captured.

There are 75 levels spread out over 5 level packs. Except for the first, each level pack requires a certain number of stars to play. Every level pack has a different theme, such as space or under-water. At the beginning of every level, players can choose among different looking eggs. The graphics, from the background illustrations to the eggs, are very well drawn and look cute. The app also has leader boards that integrate with Game Center.

Scramblies is a good-looking, easy to play, and fun physics puzzler. The gameplay is enjoyable and offers a lot of different level with unique obstacles. The app is definitely worth its $0.99 price tag.
