Pyramid Solitaire Saga has been quite the hit on Facebook, as one would expect from any King game. A mixture of good marketing, word of mouth, and the fact it's quite fun has ensured that. So, it's about time that it makes its way to iOS. This build is just as beguiling as the Facebook version and enjoys the benefit of syncing together, too.

As the name suggests, Pyramid Solitaire Saga is a solitaire game - a pyramid solitaire game. Each level offers up a selection of tiles arranged in a pyramid formation and it's down to the player to clear them. Fortunately clearing them all isn't always essential, with gold and blue cards playing a pivotal role. For card game fans, it's a fun idea. Each level doesn't take long to complete and it's simple enough to clear cards by just tapping on them. Joker cards are also offered, allowing one to clear whichever card they fancy.

Once a gold card is cleared, a scarab runs across the screen with points gained for tapping on it. Points help one get towards the coveted three stars for a stage, adding some replayability.

Of course Pyramid Solitaire Saga is essentially a Facebook game, so the freemium elements are there for all to see. There's an energy mechanic, meaning that one has to wait it out for more lives every now and then. More intrusively, opening up new sections of the game involves asking friends for help or waiting a matter of days for the stage to be unlocked. This can be annoying, although at least there are free alternatives for those willing to wait.

Still, be patient and Pyramid Solitaire Saga is quite fun. For a solitaire fan, it has the right elements to be quite addictive. Even if it does force one to slow down a little too often for comfort.
