Office Jerk Summer Games Edition was never going to offer the deepest of gaming experiences. One glance at the original Office Jerk title could have told anyone that. Given it costs nothing to play however, plus the fact that it lends itself to short bursts of gaming, Office Jerk Summer Games Edition is still a briefly entertaining experience.

The player is given one simple task: chuck objects at a mean sports judge that keeps handing out poor scores for the competitors, while ignoring his job. At all times, a fan affects the trajectory of the object, depending on the speed and direction of the breeze. Early items might just consist of a hotdog or piece of scrunched up paper but new items are unlocked gradually, such as a foam finger or even a dumbbell. This is all done via repeated plays.

Experience is earned each time that an item is thrown at the corrupt judge, with unlimited throws possible. Eventually, the player levels up and gains money to spend on boosts and, occasionally, a new item to fling. It's a simple game mechanic and it can take a while to see real benefits. Boosts are purchasable either with in-game money or real money via an in-app purchase. These speed things up but aren't essential.

Ultimately, the fun is gained from beating previous high scores and unlocking new items. It's fun for a time but, admittedly, things can get a little tired and samey. It's more the kind of game that would be played for five minutes at a time rather than any great length of time. There are a quite varied selection of Game Center achievements to provide structure to the gameplay but, really, the fun is simply passing the time so easily. Office Jerk Summer Games Edition is an easy distraction rather than anything memorable.
