Simplifying one’s inbox is an increasingly tricky proposition. The more they’re used, the more that once easy-to-browse inbox becomes terrifyingly full. Throw in the fact that many of us have numerous different inboxes to juggle, all with a different purpose in mind, and one really needs a great search feature. That glimmer of hope comes courtesy of Gusto Email App: an e-mail app with a focus on finding all those attachments that were once forgotten about.
Solely for Gmail accounts, for now, Gusto is simple to set up. Simply requiring a few login details, it’s easy to dive straight into. The app can list all of one’s email accounts in one unified inbox, or split them up according to needs. Viewing all emails is just as easy too, but the strength comes from being able to view files and photos separately. Hitting the relevant tab at the top of the screen switches between such sections, and it’s surprising what shows up.
With a tap of the screen, I came across photos and files that I’d very nearly forgotten about. Being able to change the appearance around so there’s a focus on image thumbnails, as well as a regular vertical list, enhances the potential to easily browse through what’s here. It’s simple yet pretty powerful stuff. Continuing that theme is the search functionality. It allows for various restrictions to be placed, so it’s pretty simple to find particular files or photos.
Gusto Email App isn’t quite for the power user (with labels being a particular oversight, amongst other things), but it’s still an app that’s very much worth keeping aside on one’s iOS device. Purely for the power it offers when diving through attachments, it’s sure to save many users plenty of time. It’ll be even better when there’s integration available for more services than just Gmail.
