It's the start of 2011. You've got plans for the year, right? Dreams too? How are you going to achieve them? In theory, anything is possible if you set your mind to it, but that's the problem, it's so easy to be distracted. I should know, I'm terrible for being distracted and having the attention span of a gnat. Oooh a shiny thing...
Goal-Setting Workshop aims to get everything about your life plans organised in your head so that you know exactly what needs doing. It kind of works too although you might find yourself forgetting about its existence.
The first stage explains the process behind it all - basically a motivational section that reminds you that you can do it and to set aside some time to think through your plans. Then it moves onto assessing what it is you want to achieve, what possessions you want to own one day and what career goals you have. In each of these sections, you enter what it is you want, how long it'll take for you to achieve this and why it's important for your personal growth that you manage to do this.
Once you achieve something, you can then tick it off and write about how it makes you feel. It's an interesting technique and the benefits are clearly there. Getting everything written down can really help you work things out, especially if you're not an overly chatty person and don't like talking about personal things.
The app does feel a little expensive however for what sometimes feels like a glorified To Do list app. Still, it's a good way of brainstorming and for some who are in desperate need of motivation, they should find this a gentle hand holding exercise in doing this. Just make sure you remember to check back on the app regularly so that you're reminded what you're aiming for otherwise it'll feel very overpriced and pointless.
