Organizing meal plans is a huge help for those trying to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. It gives them focus and direction, plus a friendly reminder of what needs doing. Even better, it’ll potentially save the dieter money as they only buy what they actually need from the story. The Fast Metabolism Diet App is the app of the book of the same name, offering a series of planning tools to get users on track.
The app is quite easy to set up, with users being presented with the relevant day of the week. A quick tap gets them into the nitty gritty of the app, allowing them to enter exactly what they want to eat that day. Enter relevant times for waking and going to bed, and The Fast Metabolism Diet App figures out the right times to have meals and snacks. It then offers up a list of appropriate components for each meal, allowing users to choose from the selection.
It’s quite a revelatory bunch, given how much food can actually be eaten on such a diet. For instance, breakfast requires one portion of healthy fats or protein, one type of fruit and grain, plus as many vegetables as the dieter wants to eat. It feels much less restricted than expected. There’s also a big emphasis placed on drinking plenty of water throughout the day, with the app offering push notifications to remind users not to forget.
Other features include a list of all the produce available to eat and what phase they are relevant to, with phases playing an important role in how to organize food. A grocery list facility is also easily set up, matching up to the user’s weekly meal plan, plus it’s possible to export all the data for later reference.
While some tips are offered within the app such as explaining why things must be paired together, I’d have appreciated more information on the science behind The Fast Metabolism Diet. Presumably, this is left for the book to include, but some kind of introduction would have been useful, as well as encouraged me to check out the book.
As a helpful starting point, though, and at a relatively low price, The Fast Metabolism Diet App covers all the bases and provides a handy way of organising the week’s food to match one’s dieting needs.
