When you're out and about, it's so tempting to dispense with your dietary plans and succumb to the delights of a Burger King or Subway. Eat This, Not That! Restaurants aims to help this by providing you with all the information you could possibly need on each item on the menu. Even more usefully, it provides you with some alternatives. Tap Top Swaps and choose a restaurant and the app will tell you the best swap to make. For example, if you're tempted by a Whopper, switch to a Whopper Jr without mayo and a 4-piece chicken tender meal, you'll save over 200 calories and halve your fat content.

If you'd rather decide your swaps for yourself, you can browse the menu and look up each item for yourself. You can then compare them to each other. In addition, a grading scale makes it simple to quickly check what's best for you. Each restaurant entry also provides you with some general information on the store and makes some recommendations on the best of the bunch.

Besides these features, you can also play a little game via the app, which helps you learn what foods are better for you. There's also a handy calorie logger and weight tracker which is a huge help when you're on the move.

It'd be nice if Eat This, Not That! Restaurants had a few more organizational options such as the ability to organize each part of the menu by more than just calorie amounts, but this is a pretty comprehensive app nonetheless.

Sure it's a little expensive for what it is, but what price can you place on your health? This really does make you think what a subtle difference you make in your eating habits can make to your health on the whole. As a side effect, the attractive pictures throughout make me rather hungry, but I'll resist. I know how much salt and fat are in the things after all!
