Minimalistic conversion apps aren't anything new on the App Store, but that doesn't stop Converta from being a very convenient tool.

Getting straight into the action, Converta offers up a variety of different categories. 20 in all are available; from area and angle to temperature, time, torque, and pressure. Currency is also catered for with an update on current rates every time the app is launched.

Within each of those categories is another plethora of choices. One would be hard pressed to think of something that isn't available here. It's easy to negotiate such choices, given that users just drag their fingers around to highlight the respective measurement.

Once highlighted, it's just a matter of tapping in the relevant digits via the on-screen calculator to get the desired result. Converta does a little more than that, however, thanks to offering a separate screen that includes incremental changes. It's a matter of swiping away the calculator before being presented with a near blank screen of figures. Then, with a series of swipes, the user can see gradual changes emerge with figures going up or down, depending on the position of one's finger. It'll even provide the conversion formula along the way. How useful it is depends on one's situation, but it is a very quick way of initiating such changes.

Converta does a fine job of including such small yet convenient features. It's distinctly minimal in tone but that's exactly what one wants from such a calculation tool. It's quick to offer up results and copy and paste facilities ensures they're easy to transfer elsewhere. Simple to use and quick to react, for those in need of converting various different measurements Converta is an ideal and very efficient solution.
