Layering images can create some fantastic results, but it's often quite tricky to do well without spending plenty of time on it and gradually adjusting minor things. Enter BLEND, an app that takes out all the hassle and makes it very quick and simple to combine images, thereby often creating some great results.

It's a photography app that solely focuses on that task, so don't expect it to do plenty of other things. As a situational tool though, it's ideal. It's clearly laid out and offers users the ability to combine images of their choice, or to randomize the selections.

The app allows for multiple layers, so it's possible to combine numerous images with a slider affecting which one is the focus of the photograph. I wouldn't recommend using too many photos at once, but it's good to have the flexibility of importing as many as one wishes. A percentage value demonstrates the results, making it simple enough to adjust the outcome. Depending on the images available to the user, it's possible to combine some great memories with overlaps proving quite attractive. The randomize button also helps when it comes to inspiration, although sometimes it will throw up some fairly weird results.

Extensive sharing features rounds off the app's potential, covering all the popular photo sharing bases. There's the further choice of getting a print book of the results ordered at a discount. While I'm not entirely sure that option will be used very often, the other sharing tools prove relevant enough.

Keeping it simple throughout, BLEND sticks to a very focused concept but it works here. It might not be an app used on a daily basis, but as a fun way of mixing up imagery it does the job well.
