StarByte's Black Mamba Racer is a top down arcade racer with retro graphics and a fair number of tracks to race on.

Through the 25 tracks included, the goal is to win and eventually beat the Black Mamba. The top down game works well and provides a reasonable amount of difficulty. Would love to have seen online high scores though.

While the game has the option to use the accelerometer for control, we don't recommend it. The control is just too hard with the accelerometer -- stick with the easy to use on screen controls.

Black Mamba Racer is not to be confused with some of the 3D racers we have reviewed in the past. It's a top-down arcade style racer that's fun for simple, little short game play here and there. At $1.99 it's easy to recommend for a little fun.

A little note from the developer on what to expect in the coming versions:

We are currently working on an update to include the following -
- WiFi play
- A few minor bug fixes
- More polished graphics
- Changes to front-end
- Lap time internet update (this may not make it though).
