Band of the Day is a subscription based app where the first week of use is free and each subsequent month costs $0.99. Users can also purchase an annual subscription to the app for $9.99.

Finding good music is no small task and wading through the floods of reviews available online and in print can be a daunting task for anyone looking for some good music that's new for them. Some people might have a really hip friend who can tell them about all the good music out there, but those kind of culture mavens are hard to come by and the rest of us need some help in another form. This is where the Band of the Day app steps in. This app highlights a different band every day of the year, and while just learning the name of a great new band everyday is helpful this app goes so much further and provides a wealth of information on each band every day.

This app consists of a calendar from which users can pick any day. Once a day is picked, that day's highlighted band will be displayed. Things like bios, reviews, interviews, social media mentions, videos, and even a few full length tracks to preview are included for each highlighted band. Having all of these things compiled in one app with just one new band highlighted every day makes finding, learning about, and enjoying new music so easy. Users can also go back and view the content for any highlighted bands from the current and preceding week.

The interface looks fantastic, but it is a bit complicated and it takes a little while to get familiar with it. The content for each band streams really well and the quality is great for audio and video. This is a great app for music lovers always in search of new bands to check out. Though there is a subscription fee, the content is well worth the price for those looking for a service like this on their iOS device.
