1112 Chapter 1 is an adventure game in the same vane of some of the great old Sierra titles that many of you many have grown up with. The gameplay involves navigating the in-game world and using the objects in that world to solve various puzzles. Of course part of the adventure is figuring out what those puzzles you need to solve are.

You start out this game, waking from a bad dream, disoriented and with a bad case of morning breath. From there you must interact with the surroundings, the things, the people, and the building to figure out your quest. This involves moving around and interacting with the objects to figure out how they can be used. Some of the puzzles are rather simple, others are not. Luckily, if you really get stuck, you might be able to find some help on the web somewhere. (just google it)

The development quality on this game is top notch. The art used in the game, while not quite cinematic, is done in a wonderfully comic hand drawn fashion. The sounds and music are also nicely done and help with setting the atmosphere in all parts of this game.

The only negative I could think of for this game was quickly remedied with it’s first update. The text in the game was, with the initial release, comical in it’s translation. While it was a times very funny at times, for instance the quote “no, bad case of the dragon!” to describe morning breath. The update makes it much easier to understand the dialog.

If you are a fan of graphic adventure games, this app is a great choice. It’s well done, has an interesting story line, and provides some great playtime for an app of this price. And with the promise of chapter 2 coming later this winter / early spring, this looks like a very promising episodic adventure series.
