The aim of Zombie Ragdoll is to impale, slice, dismember, and generally ensure the zombies have a pretty hellish time by firing them from a cannon onto a variety of death traps. These include – among many others – axes, spikes, moving gears, buzz saws, and even a little bit of electricity for good measure. Once all of these weapons have been utilized and all of the remaining zombies have been disposed of, the level is cleared.

Magnetized traps, assisted aiming, and other power-ups help with the tricky parts of some stages (such as trying to navigate around corners), but can only be equipped by spending coins earned throughout the game. Everything looks very cute (as cute as the act of decimating zombies can possibly be) and colorful, with gore controls for the kiddies. But does a lack of blood make decapitating zombies any less violent? I'm not actually sure it does.

One thing that Zombie Ragdoll does very well is manage to keep gameplay fresh and constantly evolving. This is especially important for a game like this, in the sense that it has the potential to become tedious very quickly. By adding new gameplay aspects and new devious devices to each level players are forced to change their approach and adapt, giving the whole experience a definite sense of progression. There are giant springs to help rebound zombies around corners, portals that transport them instantly, and ice blocks that need to be shattered.

Zombie Ragdoll does a good job of adding its own unique stamp to the static shooter genre through the use of environmental hazards. It's a great casual game for players with only a couple of minutes to spare and an unhealthy obsession with zombie destruction. Load up that cannon.
