New Version Of 'Where Is My Phone' Finally Gets It

I love my iPhone to death, but more often than not, I have no idea where it is. The problem that I have is that my lifeline to the outside world is smaller than the size of my hand, and easily finds itself in the strangest of places. Sometimes it's sitting in my jeans from the night before, sometimes it's under my bed sheets, sometimes I leave it in the bathroom; it's really just a crapshoot.

The app that was supposed to solve my problem once and for all was Where Is My Phone. The feature set sounded pretty great, all you would have to do is make a whistle and your iPhone would chime back. If you are alone in the house and can't call yourself to get the phone to ring, this would be a lifesaver.

The problem with the original version was that, without multitasking, the app had to be open for it to work. Sure, I guess you could turn the app on every time you leave your phone, but nobody is going to do that. The app quickly became a novelty app, with the ability to leave a voice or audio (including fart sounds) recording that would chime in when you whistled. As much as I like being able to produce fart sounds on command, I longed for the day that I would be able to find my phone in my pants.

With the latest Where Is My iPhone update, you can now do that very thing because the app supports multitasking. Just whistle away, and even if the app isn't open, the phone will speak up. Little Worlds, the developer, also increased the whistle sensitivity to pick up a wider range of piercing sounds, fixed some nagging bugs, and added the ability to record in 3 sounds at a time instead of one.
