Vevo Does Music Videos

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

It's hard to find a good source of music videos these days. MTV, the pioneer of the music video craze, has now sold its soul and is pumping out as many episodes of Teen Mom and Jersey Shore as possible. Sadly, even MTV 2 doesn't play nearly as many videos anymore, so if you want to watch a good music video you have to tune into either Fuse or MTV U, neither of which are in any sort of regular cable package.

It seems as though music videos on TV have gone the way of the buffalo, and the only way that they will survive is through the web. I'm not entirely sure if people in the typical music video watching age group even know what music videos are, but if they do, Vevo is where they are probably finding them.

Vevo is the largest "premium" music video distribution service with "over 1.1 billion streams and nearly 60 million unique viewers each month in the US and Canada." They have deals with just about every music distributor in the universe and are growing every day.

Vevo now has a mobile app is out, letting music video fans have the same great service directly onto their iPhones. The service has over 20,000 music videos from over 7,000 artists, from chart toppers to the stuff that I listen to. Also included in the app is a new Vevo series that is exclusive to the iPhone called Ask:Reply that features the some of the biggest artists in the industry answering questions submitted to the site via Twitter and Facebook. The artists featured aren't really my cup of tea (David Archuleta, Ciara, Civil Twilight, Fantasia, Grace Potter, JLS, Kelis, and Maroon 5 are the next to be featured), but I'm sure that they are fun for fans of their music types.

The best part of all is that Vevo is totally free. Not only is it free, it also doesn't look to be bombarded by Jersey Shore clones anytime in the near future... definitely a win for fans of music videos.
