Some of you may absolutely leap at the chance to climb onboard an aeroplane. Some of you may not be too thrilled at the idea of flying, but will get on with it without much fuss. Some of you may be paralysed with fear, like me, from the moment you step in the airport.

However you handle flying, this is a handful of games you really shouldn't be without. I mean, it's not the end of the world if you don't have them, but they're good fun and a good distraction for those less tolerable of air travel – trust me.

Kingdom Rush: Origins is a prequel to the popular Kingdom Rush by Ironhide Game Studio. The game adds new towers, heroes, levels, and enemies to the world, as well as over 70 unique achievements and three difficulty modes.

You get to control one of nine unique heroes including Prince Denas the Knight, Arivan the Battlemage, or the wizard Vez’nan before he decided to join the forces of evil. The game pits you against the Dark Elf Army, which has over 30 new enemy types including gnoll, baldersnatch, evil spider, and dark elf warrior. You'll be able to defend against them with the eight new towers that are available.

The second half of the Dark Ages has arrived in an update for Plants vs. Zombies 2, bringing even more medieval defeating of the undead into the game.

Alongside ten new levels, this update also brings a couple of new plants - the Magnet-shroom and the Pea-nut - and two new zombies - the Wizard Zombie, who turns plants into sheep, and the King Zombie, who transforms Peasant Zombies into helmed knights. If players manage to survive the night, a fired-up Zomboss awaits them, with the endless Arthur's Challenge available to give players a place to test their plant-placing powers.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is available to shamble onto your iOS device of choice now and is free to download.

Alien Creeps TD Set to Creep onto iOS Soon

Scottish developers Outplay Entertainment has announced Alien Creeps TD, a story-based tower defense game set to release on iOS soon. The game will feature a variety of aliens to battle against and terrains to battle in, with players taking control of 50 different towers and three heroes as they attempt to defend humanity from the alien menace.

Outplay President Richard Hare had this to say on the announcement of the game:

We are exceptionally thrilled to be able to announce Alien Creeps TD. This tower defense game is packed with action and will keep gamers coming back for more, and with its crisp 3D graphics and quality gameplay, we’re honored to have our name behind it.

Alien Creeps TD is set to release onto iOS devices sometime soon.

An update has arrived for Plants vs Zombies 2, adding the first part of the Dark Ages campaign previously announced at E3. This latest update brings new levels into the game alongside the return of fan-favorite 'Shroom' plants - and a new plant, the Sun Beam. The Knight Zombie and Jester Zombie also make their début alongside Medieval Zombies and more, with these new zombies aiming for your brains as always.

Plants vs Zombies 2 is available now and is free-to-play.

Chillingo Releases Iconic Platform Flash Port and Classic Tower Defense Sequel

Chillingo released two new games this week. Well, maybe new isn't the right term, one is a sequel to an iconic tower defense game and the other is a flash-favorite quirky platofrmer ported to iOS. Both are poised to be huge hits.

iBomber Defense Pacific

iBomber Defense Pacific is the sequel to Chilingo's tower defense classic. Developed by Cobra Mobile the game brings new elements of TD to the Pacific ocean this time. The game has deeper strategic elements without giving up the classic gameplay, and the graphics and sound have had a serious makeover. The game is selling for $2.99 for a universal build and there is a free lite version to try before buying. For fans of the genre, this one is going to be a must have.

Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants was co-developed by BorneGames and Over the Top Games is the first mobile iteration of the enormously popular Flash game. This is one of the most unique looking platformers with a hand drawn doodle feel and levels that surprise at every turn. Included in the iOS version are new weapons and plenty of new tricks to help Fancy Pants an save sister Cutie Pants from the "worst pirates ever." The game is universal and selling for $.99
