The Rooster Who Lost His Voice is a charming universal interactive storybook children of all ages and their parents will enjoy.
Bright and colorful, this is a lovely storybook with a unique style which will remind readers of the pieces of a felt board - here lovingly animated and including the subtle textures and shadows one would find among these fabric pieces - details that I really appreciate.
This is the story of a rooster who loses his voice and turns to his animal friends for help with this situation. Although not incredibly unique, this tale is wonderfully classic in its nature and will be enjoyed by children a great deal.
The production value as a whole is impressive, including a full 18 minutes of playtime and a stellar cast of voice actors that really brings life to this subtly rhyming story.
The interactive moments are very nice as well, as touchable elements are intuitively highlighted, allowing children to propel the story as well as work on their comprehension as they involve themselves with this story.
The only thing I think would add to this overall experience is the ability to pick up this story where one left off if readers are interrupted during this tale and have to walk away from their device. It is lovely and fun, however that one can select a favorite animal from this story to be taken directly to their section of this app, also allowing readers to somewhat find their place within this tale if as well.
I am very excited to see a storybook app developed by the developers at iMagine Machine, creators of the wildly creative collage Making app Faces iMake. I really look forward to seeing what new titles iMagine Machine may develop in the future.
