Relive the Retro Days With Woah Dave! Out This Week

Posted by Jessica Fisher on October 27th, 2014

Woah Dave!, by Choice Provisions, is a retro-style arcade platformer. This is the first game they are releasing since changing their name from Gaijin Games (perhaps best known for the BIT.TRIP series). Players fight aliens as Dave, a strange little fellow in teal pants. You can reach the top of the leader boards by pocketing the spare change that aliens drop when you kill them.

If you can't wait and need your Woah Dave! fix immediately, the soundtrack is available on iTunes and CD Baby.

You'll be able to pick up Woah Dave! this Thursday, October 30, for $1.99.

Gaijin Games Gets Rebranded to Choice Provisions, Announces a New Game Called Tharsis

Gaijin Games, the development house behind the BIT.TRIP series, has just undergone a formal name change and now goes by Choice Provisions.

According to its blog, the studio changed the name to avoid any negative connotations associated with the former name. All existing games will continue to be marketed with the legacy name.

Choice Provisions also announced a new, upcoming game for iOS called Tharsis.

Tharsis is a game of tiny decisions with huge consequences. It uses regular six-sided dice to model emergencies, repairs, research, collaboration, futility, and the madness that can only be achieved three days from the red planet with low air, no supplies, and an electrical fire in the greenhouse. Oh, and if you run out of food, you've agreed to eat Zach Gage.
