Stormbound: Kingdom Wars guide - how to become a master strategist

Stormbound: Kingdom Wars is an excellent new RTS turned card battler out now on iOS and Android. Lovers of strategy will get a lot of enjoyment out of Stormbound's chess-like mechanics, and it's cardbased units are perfect for anyone who loves the addictive nature of a good CCG. 

Diving into a new strategy game isn't always easy, but we have a few tips to help you get started.  Save your spells

Don't use your spells as soon as their available. You should save them for the opportune moment, as these cards are highly powerful and can help turn the battle for you if you're struggling. 

If you have a single square spell in your hand, use it when your opponent places a particularly powerful enemy on the board. This will help your regular troops regroup and does good damage along the way. 

On the other hand, if you have an area of effect spell, it's great to cast these on clusters of enemies, even weaker ones, to clear out opposing units and gain the upper hand. 

Upgrade your cards

As you progress through the game, you're likely to collect lots of duplicate cards. Don't let them go to waste, though. You can use duplicates to upgrade the cards you actually use, making them more powerful in difficult battles.  Capture the castle

Sometimes towards the end of a battle, it's better to focus your efforts on taking out your enemies castle rather than destroying the units already on the field. Size up your situation. Can you take out your opponent's castle before you can put your own in danger? If so, focus on placing units close to the other castle.
