Stickman Basketball Review

Continuing the trend of all things stickman-y, Stickman Basketball is a fine adaptation of basketball with a stickman-based twist. With plenty of different modes to choose from, it should be ideal for those looking for casual or more complex thrills.

Much like with previous installments, much of this success comes from Stickman Basketball's choice of control system. It's possible to set things up so that the players run automatically, leaving one to handle passing or shooting. That mode is ideal for when one just wants a quick thrill and nothing overly taxing. There are no virtual buttons, leaving players to tap on a stickman to pass or tap generally on the screen to shoot at the basket. It's fun and ensures that even the most inexperienced of players should be able to achieve something here. What's more involving is when manual running is switched on. A virtual d-pad controls direction while buttons representing shoot, pass, steal or switch player offers everything one needs to win. It's dependable fun and easy to learn, if more challenging to master.

There are plenty of modes to sink one's teeth into as well, with quick games, seasons, cups, knock out, and even Street Basketball available to compete in. Modes are gradually unlocked through regular play and simple things such as liking the game's Facebook page, with no fear of in-app purchases here.

Crucially, Stickman Basketball is enjoyable enough that most players will enjoy working their way through the different modes. Easy to play yet requiring some mastering to truly perfect, Stickman Basketball is a well-pitched title. Throw in little details such as the ability to share replays of dunks, and view one's progress on an online leaderboard, and Stickman Basketball is thoroughly entertaining gaming.
