SpinArt Studio Review
SpinArtStudio has added a lot of features to the classic painting toy. A good idea for when painting isn’t possible.

SpinArt Studio is an application that brings spin art to the iPad. My son really enjoys both spinning and stopping the canvas, almost as much as he loves splattering paints across the page, making hypnotic circles and spirals. A version of this app is also available for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Although not the same as doing spin art with paint and paper, this app is as close as it will get using a device. Some interesting options are included, such as different shaped paper, being able to have the spinning be off-center and being able to spin multiple places on one piece of paper. There are multiple brushes to choose from and an undo button for mistakes is also included. You can save your art on your device or share with friends via social networking. My son enjoys choosing colored papers, and I like that the glittery paint brush is also an option, giving your pieces a nice shimmery effect,
SpinArt Studio does not take the place of getting one’s hands dirty, but for times where it is not possible to whip out the paints, SpinArt Studio is a nice choice. I do wish there was a “clear” button along with start, stop, stream size, and color change functions along the bottom of the main screen to be able to start a new project quickly instead of having to dig through the settings when all my son wants to do is spin and paint and spin some more.
