Weather

The free weather app that's included with all iOS devices is just fine. It'll tell you a very basic synopsis of the weather near you providing you give it a postcode or area name, and that's it. If you want more detailed information however, you're in need of a specialist app. Something like WeatherSnitch will do the job if you're that obsessed about all things weather based.

WeatherSnitch offers everything imaginable. Using the GPS functionality, it'll home in on where you are right now, although you can always set a location or two instead. Then all manners of information pops up on screen. You can check the humidity, how fast the wind is, what the temperature feels like as well as what it actually is, what the visibility is like. A particularly useful feature is the ability to check what time the sun is setting. Doubly useful as at this time of year it can remind you how near we're getting to Summer thanks to sunset getting steadily later in the day. You can check a basic forecast for the coming 15 days as well as look at the weather hour by hour.

The options are plentiful for those who prefer their week to start on a Sunday rather than a Monday, use Centigrade instead of Fahrenheit and who prefer kilometres to miles.

Ultimately though, WeatherSnitch is just a Weather app. It was never going to offer hundreds of different things, because what is there to offer? People want to know the weather in a simple and efficient fashion. This does exactly that. If you're keen to know an accurate weather forecast for whatever reason, this could well be for you. For those not so bothered though, you might as well stick with the free app.

WeatherSnitch provides plenty of weather based facts but might not be worthwhile unless you're obsessed with the latest weather
