VoxelMaker is a very cool 3D modelling package. It enables you to create 3D models of pretty much anything imaginable, before rendering them with lighting and shadows. It’ll take some practice to truly get the most from it, but it’s worth persevering.
Essentially, you’re placing down colored blocks and forming more significant shapes from them. For instance, you can create a block person or a big building through these building blocks. It’s all quite reminiscent of how you create something in Minecraft. You can change the colors, the canvas, manipulate the camera, and so forth. You can also place large awnings around the place, highlighting something.
It’s really pretty impressive, even for those who lack artistic flair such as myself. The touch controls are quite effective and while more of a tutorial would have been helpful, it’s no great hardship to experiment.
You can import and export .vox models too, which could be quite useful for those wanting to take their creations to the next level. You can also render views of scenes with configurable shadow softness and ambient lighting to get their true effect.
VoxelMaker is quite the package for $4.99, and an easy app to recommend.
