Vimo is a fairly simple if potentially expensive way of adding stickers and animations to your videos, thereby making them seem more like GIFs than conventional video clips. It’s appealing stuff but the price of its in-app purchases might discourage you.
No tutorial is really needed for Vimo - everything’s pretty straightforward. You import a video from your camera roll then tap the plus sign to add various stickers. A variety of different themes are available, including emotions, music-themed options, festive occasions, and simply cute looking things. Some are free while others require an in-app purchase to unlock the set. Each individual sticker set costs $0.99, with the full feature set currently available for $4.99 (that price rises after the sale period). It’s pretty expensive going but you can get reasonably far with the free stuff.
Once you’ve picked a sticker, you can then record where you place the sticker and drag it around your video with Vimo capturing each moment. The cutest times are when you have a video of a pet and you drag some kind of symbol around, making it look as if it’s following the icon. You can choose to rotate the image, as well as change its color to tie into the purpose of your video. That’s pretty much all there is to Vimo, with the next step a matter of choosing where to share the content. Options are available for all the popular video upload places, such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Instagram. It’s a fairly cute way of personalizing your videos, although do expect things to get a bit pricey if you want to own all of the sticker sets that are available. Odds are you’ll stick with the free selection and that should keep you happy for long enough - until the novelty factor wears off.
