Swing King is a fun little casual game that is about as whimsical as a Dr. Seuss book. The main character is big white puffball wearing a crown and armed with a sword. As if that wasn’t strange enough, he also has a third arm that is as fuzzy as his body and extends out of the top of his head that is used to swing around. Swing King brings to the table some classic puzzle gameplay, unique characters and plenty of levels to keep players entertained.

The object of Swing King is the same as many casual games: collect all the stars in each level to get the highest score possible. Swing King is a physics-based game that works against gravity. Fortunately it doesn’t take too long to get accustomed to how the King moves around the board. Using his fuzzy arm on the top of his head, the King swings around obstacles and traps to secure himself to different anchors located in various places on the board before gravity gets the best of him. The game amps up the difficulty slowly by adding in new elements and enemy obstacles attempting thwart the King’s plans to reclaim his kingdom. Most of the early levels can be completed fairly easy but it may take players several tries to collect all stars in one shot as the game progresses.

The things that I like most about Swing King are definitely the visuals and the characters. Since the gameplay itself has a familiar feel to it the characters are what make the game stand out. The developers did a nice job at creating an imaginative world that is home to several clever and whimsical characters.

Swing King currently houses 92 different levels that span across several well-designed worlds. I would have to say that there is more than enough content to be played and I’m hopeful even more levels will be released in future updates. This game is a no brainer for any fan of the physics puzzler genre, especially at a price of just $0.99 for a universal app. This King has my vote.
