Ever wanted to create your own music? There are many apps out there that’ll do that and Music Maker Jam is one of the newest. In a matter of seconds you can piece together some musical tracks and even throw in your own vocals. For many it’s a trifling delight, but one that proves quite enticing.

Music Maker Jam starts out with a tutorial overlay explaining what everything does. It can seem a little overwhelming but fortunately, experimentation is a fine way to figure things out. The app offers over 100 different styles as well as an 8-channer mixer so that you can manipulate a lot.

Unfortunately, you can’t adjust things on the fly. Instead, you need to tweak a few options before playing it back and seeing how things work out. That’s a bit of a shame, slowing the process down somewhat. Where Music Maker Jam redeems itself is how you can easily remix things simply by shaking your device.

It’s that kind of thinking that means Music Maker Jam is the kind of app that’s going to be fun for amateur music creators, ensuring it’s worth the download.
