The first thing I do in the morning is check my iPhone and iPad for notifications, emails, news, schedules and weather reports. Smart phones and tablets are quickly replacing newspapers and television news because they can provide everything users need with just a few taps on the screen.

Similar in style to Google Now, the noteworthy app known as Morning helps users receive all this information in just one location so users no longer have to tap in and out of apps to coordinate their day. The app doesn’t waste any time when it’s first opened, so users can get acquainted with the attractive interface immediately.

The main screen is separated into different panels. There are a total of eight customizable panels that make it possible to keep track of date and time, stocks, weather, news, to-dos, commute time and a countdown timer. Tapping on each of these panels reveals more customization options so users can fine tune the interface and the panels to suit their needs.

Panels can be rearranged by tapping and selecting the panel option button, which makes it possible to replace one panel for another. Additionally, a quick swipe to the right reveals more color schemes to select.

I was rather impressed with how easy Morning is to use, and how organized and great the interface looks. However, the recent update has removed an option that many users find to be rather disappointing. It was possible to drag panels around the screen, but the developers state that this feature is in violation of the App Store Review Guidelines and they have had to remove it. This guideline states that "apps cannot create alternate desktop or home screen environments or simulate multi-app widget experiences."

While it would be nice to be able to drag and rearrange the panels, this isn’t a huge deal breaker. Most of the bugs have been polished and fixed, and the recent update also has added a few enhancements.

All in all, Morning is an attractive app that’s perfect for propping up on the work desk or nightstand to keep track of the work day in one easy and convenient location.
