The simple goal of Knockball is to use the golden ball in each level to knock, bump, and hit the other silver balls off of the square playing field. This must also be accomplished without letting the golden ball drop off the sides. Each level consists of a unique configuration of silver balls, bumpers, and blocks. With each unique level, players must take the same golden ball and hurl it into the other balls and structures to clear the level of silver balls.
The golden ball is controlled with a familiar pull-back-and-let-go mechanic with the players pulling back farther on the screen to launch the ball with more force. However, unlike many other titles with this mechanic, the player doesn't need to actually touch the ball and pull back. In a welcome simplification of the controls, players can touch anywhere on the screen and pull back to control the ball. This makes it much easier to control the ball if it gets close to the edges.Knockball is good, physics puzzling fun. There are tons of levels and many different configurations to stump players, and the physics are spot on. The fast thinking and soft touch required also mean this game has more to offer than just mindless ball rolling. Players will enjoy the challenge and polish of this game.
