I Really Have to Go Review
I Really Need to Go is a cute, somewhat cheeky interactive storybook about needing to use the toilet.

I Really Have to Go is a cute and fun interactive storybook about a little boy who really, really has to pee. The illustrations are well done, as are the hidden interactions which add sounds and motions to this story, really bringing it to life. This book can either be read like a traditional book or can be listened to as well. An impressive five translations including Dutch, English, German, French and Spanish are included.
Having gone through the throes of toilet training with my son of 2.5+ years, we have enjoyed reading various potty-themed books, and l enjoy sharing I Really Have to Go with my son, as potty-themed books for kids experienced with the toilet are few and far between. All the interactions are very nice, but my favorite is a rather spirited one at the end of the book that may offend some parents who are not into toilet humor, but we think it is fun and my son enjoys playing with this interaction.
Although this book does not claim to be specifically about post-potty training, I use this story to start many open-ended conversations with my son about having to go, what could have been done differently in the story and about having accidents. I appreciate the various sounds and situations the little boy finds himself in which makes him need to pee even more, something I am not sure if my son understands but as an adult, make me chuckle. Having seen the quality of this story, with the beautiful, stylized illustrations and interactions this app has to offer, I am really excited to see what the developers at Piccolo Picture Books come up with next.
